About

Katie Opdycke, MOS, OTR/L is the founder and owner of ktOT Occupational Therapy. She is a registered occupational therapist with speciality training in sensory processing, mental health, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, attachment, eating disorders, Lifestyle Redesign, and animal-assisted therapy. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Katie's background is in public relations and marketing, but she decided to attend graduate school for occupational therapy because she wanted work more directly with people and make a positive difference in their lives.

Katie has a decade of experience working as an OT in schools, outpatient facilities, and behavioral/mental health settings. She has dedicated her time serving all populations, including those who normally wouldn't have access to OT services. She has taken trips to both Nicaragua and Peru to provide occupational therapy to isolated and impoverished communities. She plans on taking more trips in the future when it is safe to do so.

In the last few years, Katie has focused on gaining additional education and training in mental health and wellness. She is extremely passionate about this area due to her own personal mental health issues as a child and teenager. It is her hope she can use her experience to help prevent others from enduring the same struggles as she did. Katie's mission is to partner with individuals AND their families (or any others involved) to use a collaborative approach to address mental health challenges so that they can live their best life possible.

Katie currently resides in Santa Cruz, California. In her spare time, Katie likes running obstacle course races (i.e. Spartans), hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time on the beach or in the woods with her dog Zoey. She is currently training Zoey to serve as a therapy dog and assistant.
